SNL's JAY PHAROAH, The Impersonation Master, Performing 2 Shows at StarDome on NEW YEAR'S EVE!

Jay Pharoah is returning to Saturday Night Live's Studio 8H for his fourth season. Pharoah is best known for his wide array of uncanny celebrity impressions including President Barack Obama, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Stephen A. Smith and Kanye West, as well as for his recurring character of school principal Daniel Frye, a character heavily influenced by the current principal of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, where Jay graduated in 2005.  

Pharoah developed his comedy skills at a young age, doing impersonations at age 6, and cites Gilbert Gottfried's character in Aladdin, Iago, as his first voice, explaining, "My father put me in a talent competition a couple of months later, and out of the whole thing I got fifth place." Later, around age 15, Jay began training in local comedy clubs. He went on to tour in the U.K., the U.S. and Montreal.

Pharoah became an internet phenomenon when his impersonation of Barack Obama became widely seen on YouTube. In early 2010, Pharoah appeared in a series of segments that aired on 106 & Park in promotion for the 2010 BET Awards, where his character had to deliver an important package for television personalities Rocsi and Terrence J.

In 2010, Pharoah was hired by Saturday Night Live as a featured player for the show's 36th season. As of August 2012, he is currently the youngest male member of the cast at age 25 and the second youngest black male cast member after Eddie Murphy (who was only 19 when he was hired in 1980).

He debuted on Saturday Night Live on September 25, 2010 and is regarded by Rob Moynihan of TV Guide as the "breakout player" for that season, for his seemingly effortless impersonations of Jay-Z, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Lil Wayne, and Denzel Washington. He debuted his SNL impersonation of Barack Obama in the 38th season premiere on September 15, 2012.

Pharoah will next star alongside Kevin Hart and Ice Cube in “Ride Along,” with Bryan Cranston and Anna Kendrick in “Get a Job,” with Chris Rock in “Finally Famous,” and in “Intramural.” His past feature film credits include “Lola Versus.” Pharoah’s Kanye West parody, “I Am A Dog,” was featured on Above Average and became an instant viral video reaching over a million views within the first week.

Originally from Virginia, Pharoah currently resides in New York City.

Finis Henderson Aims to ENTERTAIN at the StarDome December 11-15, 2013!

"Your Eyes won't believe what your Ears are Hearing"

Being part of Finis Henderson’s audience is equivalent to being invited to a reunion of some of the entertainment industry's greatest legends and contemporary favorites, Sinatra, Boyz II Men, Elvis Presley, Alan Jackson, Nat King Cole (and daughter Natalie!), Sammy Davis Jr., and many others gather on stage for an evening of music, dancing, and comedy. Weaving the comic personas of the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Rodney Dangerfield and Mike Tyson through the crowd, one is apt to forget they're not watching a crazed chorus, but the versatile talent of one dynamic performer.

The sound is theirs... The voice is pure Finis Henderson. And as the evening draws to a close, it isn't a legend that brings the audience to its feet, but the intensely melodic strain of Mr. Henderson's own rendition of "Music of the Night."

It was only natural that Finis would go into show business. His father was a successful song and dance man, and one time Vice-President of Sammy Davis Jr. Enterprises. Being exposed to that kind of talent and encouragement, he followed up with formal training at the Chicago School of the Arts and Columbia College. Afterwards, he took his act to Los Angeles and polished it at the famed Comedy Store. Since then he has headlined at the Trump Taj Mahal in Alantic City and has performed in major comedy venues and casinos across the nation. Finis recently "struck gold" at the Gold Strike Casino Resort in Robinsonville, Mississippi with continuous standing ovations and shows held-over by popular demand! Finis performed our National Anthem at the Autozone Ballpark in Memphis during that time. He has also opened for such superstars as Jackie Mason, Smokey Robinson, Barbara Mandrell, and Alan King, to name a few.

There is something about Finis Henderson's performance that makes him stand out from every other musical impressionist in the business. His obvious passion for entertaining combined with his elegant style and limitless talent make him one of the most successful performers on the coporate circuit today. Finis is doing it all! "The Gangster of Comedy", CAPONE LEE Coming to StarDome November 15-17!

Born as Derrick Lee and straight out of the Bronx, NY, he has one of the most exciting careers in comedy. A hustler who trades in his ruggish-thuggish ways to become a successful entrepreneur and later metamorphosis the world of comedy as Capone. Capone didn’t ignore the warning signs that he needed to cease the hustle. His first and last signs came in 1991 after receiving a nine-month sentence. It was then that the soon-to-be notorious funnyman knew the street life wasn’t his calling. “Jail was a blessing for me.  At the rate I was going I’d either be spending a whole lot of time there or end up dead”, recalls the comedian of his spiraling street career. With a second chance, Capone left the street life and became a home attendant for the mentally challenged. “It may seem a little far fetched that I chose a Samaritan job, but I’ve always been interested in helping people, especially those who are unable do for themselves”.

Although his salary was a far cry from his previous income, he valued his freedom enough to stay on a legitimate path and supplement his wages by moonlighting as a barber on the weekends. It was at his second job, that he began to hone his comedic skills by engaging in intense snap sessions with co-workers. “I was always cracking jokes on the customers or my co-workers so the barber shop served as a sort of comedy haven for me.”

It wasn’t until 1992, when a promoter friend of Capone’s challenged him to take his innate talent off the streets and to the stage that his comedy career was launched. “My first show was at Columbia University,” says the comedic veteran of his meager beginnings and who credits his late mother for his comedic sense. “I won the amateur contest and I was invited to perform with the heavy hitters.”  Performing with professionals such as Mike Epps, Tracey Morgan and Talent, opened up many doors for the boisterous budding comedian. He immediately ditched his day job after he’d saved his earnings to open his first barbershop. “It was always one of my dreams to have my own barber shop and work for myself.”

Today, the funnyman is the C.E.O. of D.D.L. Enterprises (his initials).  He teaches the business of comedy one day per week, at no charge, to up and coming comedians.  In addition to his acute business savvy, Capone’s ability to adapt to any audience has made him a mainstay in the comedy arena. He has performed at a variety of venues such as New York’s Caroline’s Comedy Club, Uptown Comedy Club, Boston Comedy Club (noting just a few) and many college Universities.  He has toured with N.Y. Kings of Comedy, Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam in England and Shaquille O’Neal’s All Star Comedy Jam in 2011 and 2012.

It is this same universal comedic flair that helped Capone nab his gig as the host of Harlem’s legendary Amateur Night at the Apollo Theatre as well as the majority of the theaters scheduled concerts, “transforming it into a comedic vision”, says the comedian. With his witty style of comedy, the content of his material derives from personal experiences, relationships, children, society, work and ethnicity, admits Capone.

Capone is notably talented in acting as well, was the main actor for New York Times bestselling author Zane’s HBO film production of her book “Sex Chronicles”. It’s obvious that he has traveled his path and walked toward the light almost stealthily – when the world of comedy least anticipated his arrival. But he’s here now!  Sitting stoically upon his comedic throne, capitalizing on his continued success as he embraces every opportunity to tickle the next funny bone.
