Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Powell adopted the stage name "Lil Duval" to pay homage to his birthplace, Duval County, Florida. After graduating from high school, Powell relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he started working in the comedic circles, performing stand-up at the Atlanta staple, Uptown Comedy Corner, which led him to become a regular performer.

After performing at the Oakland Bay Area Competition in 2001, Powell was approached by Cedric the Entertainer’s road manager and was invited to perform on the Budweiser tour featuring Cedric and four additional comedians. Powell was then invited by Cedric to perform on his television special Cedric the Entertainer: Starting Lineup.

In 2003, he released the underground comedy DVD Dat Boy Funny, which also featured several upcoming comedians featuring colorful sketch pieces and parodies mocking events in pop culture. The following year, Powell became a regular featured performer on three seasons of BET’s ComicView. Powell released his second DVD Put Your Hands on Me in 2005. That same year he appeared in Three 6 Mafia's independent film, Choices II: The Setup, as well as being featured on various skits of the film's soundtrack.

In addition to stand-up comedy, Powell also writes for Ozone magazine. He has also appeared in several music videos including T.I.'s "Rubberband Man", "24's", "Whatever You Like", "What Up, What's Haapnin', Big Kuntry King's "That's Right", Yung Joc's "It's Goin' Down" "Coffee Shop", and Young Jeezy's "My President".In 2005 Roland Powell aka Lil Duvall was one of the finalist on BET's Coming to the Stage. Lil Duvall's performance was was smart, witty and cleaver. Today, Lil Duvall is rapidly becoming one of the most talked about comedians in the industry.  Lil Duvall's hard work towards perfecting of his talent continues to make him a rising star.

Dominique is telling it like it is this weekend at the StarDome!

What is there to know about Dominique? Well, if you're interested in high-powered comedy, there is everything to know, From clubs across the country to Comedy Central's hit "CHAPELLE's SHOW" she's showing America what a comedienne is.

She began honing her skills unprofessionally as a civil servant on the nightshift as a postal worker at the now infamous Brentwood Postal facility in her native Washington D.C. "I knew something like that was gonna happen. I used to see all kinds of stuff that terrorist could use come through that post office. But that was back in the good ole' Timothy McVeigh days", she quips about the nation's anthrax scare. Boredom with the job and fear of going postal gave way to open mic nights at local clubs at the behest of friends and co-workers. She immediately gained a reputation for telling it like it is; raw and uncut and unknowingly garnered a loyal following. Washington's uppity audiences gravitated toward her mixture of politics, street culture and current events. Her strong presence and a bravado rarely seen in female comics quickly gained the attention of the producers of HBO's "Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam", the show that changed comedy forever. She went from shuffling mail to working with the likes of Chris Rock in no time. "I didn't do anything special. I just talked about what I knew and the next thing you know I'm on T. V. I quit that job and took about 20 books of stamps. I figured they owed me." She never looked back.

Sensing that she had outgrown DC's small comedy scene, she moved to the Bronx, which wasn't a far cry from the Southeast, and became a fixture at the clubs in New York City. Places like the "Comic Strip" and "Stand Up New York" served as testing grounds for her new material. On a chance Wednesday night at a small club on the lower eastside she met Saturday Night Live's Tracy Morgan who made Dominique his opening act for his run at Caroline's on Broadway Comedy Club. The two formed a friendship and have been working together ever since. Being Tracy's feature however wasn't enough to keep the bills paid so Dominique became what she calls a 'hustler', performing all over the country to make ends meet. From Caroline's in New York to The Improv in Miami to LA's Laugh Factory, and every club in between, Dominique has wowed audiences with her straight forward wit and comedic standpoint reminiscent of Mom's Mabley.

A run on the highly successful Def Comedy Jam Tour and numerous television appearances including the fresh new "Comic Groove" on Comedy Central, the legendary "Showtime at the Apollo" and the controversial "Comic View" on Black Entertainment Television prompted a move to Los Angeles. Upon arrival, Dominique began making the rounds in Hollywood's comedy clubs as well as the smaller lesser known clubs in LA. "I like telling jokes in mainstream clubs as well as underground spots cause it keeps me fresh no matter where I am". And fresh she is. She has become a club staple and continues to tour clubs and colleges around the country. Since 1998, Dominique has been a headliner on the RJE Comedy Cabaret Tour www.comediandepot.com, the largest and highest grossing college/university based comedy tour. She has participated in Urban Internationals Comedy Arts Festival better know as Jamie Foxx's "Laffapalooza" as well as the Don "DC" Curry's "Bay Area Comedy Competition" in Oakland. After two years of study, she added acting to her resume when she landed a part in the critically acclaimed indie "Thirty Years to Life".

John Caparulo's sharp wit and unique delivery will make you an instant fan. At the Stardome this weekend, March 1 - 4!

John began his stand-up career in Northeast Ohio in 1997. His sharp wit and unique delivery made him a crowd favorite right off the bat.

After graduating from Kent State University, he left behind a lucrative career patching potholes to take his talent to the West coast. There he spent the next four years working the door at the world famous Comedy Store and cutting grass at a local golf course.

Cap's first big break came at the 2003 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, where he impressed the industry observers enough to offer him a sitcom deal. It was then he was able to trade in his weed whacker for a microphone full-time. He then applied his blue-collar work ethic to the stage, where he now performs nearly 365 nights a year.

He has made three appearances on Tonight Show, has his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents and is now a part of Blue Collar Comedy: The Next Generation. The 1-hour special recently aired on TBS. John's first film, Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show, was released by New Line Cinema earlier this year. The comedy documentary follows Vince and 4 stand-up comics as they tour around the country. John is the host of the CMT series Mobile Home Disaster and is a regular on E!'s hit show Chelsea Lately.

In May of 2008, this up-and-coming comedian recorded his first one-hour DVD called "Meet Cap," which was released in April, 2009.

She's Brilliant, Strong AND Funny! Sheryl Underwood Feb 24-25 at the StarDome!

Comedienne. Political Satirist. Republican. Conservative. Not the first things that come to mind when you look at the beautiful and talented Sheryl Underwood. There's more to her than meets the eye. One of the most brilliant comics on the scene today, Underwood's claim to fame is that she dares to say what people are really thinking and makes no apologies for it.

Underwood's comedy career began in 1989 when she became the first female finalist in the popular Miller Lite Comedy Search. Since then her career has continued to skyrocket. Sheryl has won a number of high profile comedy competitions including Johnny Walker Red, Funniest Woman at the Improv, Old English Comedy Crunch and BET's Comic View's Funniest Female Comedian. In 1995 Underwood was named 1st runner-up in the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition, securing Sheryl a place in history as the first female comedian- in fact, the only comedian- to place in the competition's final round three years in a row.

With all these accomplishments on the comedy circuit, Sheryl began her next challenge - to conquer the world of television. When BET needed an additional host for their popular talk show, Oh Drama! Sheryl answered the call and was an immediate hit as the show's newest host. Audiences took instantly to her bluntness, wry humor and down to earth appeal, which lead to the creation of her own show Holla. The self-produced and created talk show based loosely on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect brings together a panel of guests with vastly different opinions to discuss politics, sex, current events and various newsworthy topic- with explosive results- moderated by Underwood, Holla airs on BET Tuesday & Thursdays at 9:30 PM.

The same qualities that endeared Sheryl to BET audiences have made her a favorite on shows such as Politically Incorrect, HBO's All-Star Def Comedy Jam, Showtime's Full-Frontal Comedy Show, Motown Live and Fox's Saturday Night Special. Her appeal also extends to film with roles in Bullworth and Master P's I Got the Hook Up.

Not only is Sheryl one of the hardest working comedians in the country, she is also a philanthropist, donating 5% of her road earnings to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., where she is a lifetime member and has served as President of her local chapter (Omieron Rho Zeta chapter). In addition to the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Sheryl is also a member of the National Council of Negro Women and the NAACP. She also supports a number of worthy causes, including founding the African-American Female Comedian Association.

Last Comic Standing winner Jon Reep at the StarDome this weekend!

American actor and stand-up comedian John Reep was born on March 26, 1972 in Hickory, North Carolina. He is the winner of the fifth season of the NBC reality talent contest Last Comic Standing.  While attending Fred T. Foard High School, Reep participated in sports and was a member of the football team. He was given the batch award of class clown, following in his father’s footsteps.

Jon graduated from North Carolina State University 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, Mass Communication, and Public & Personal communication. A year later, he hit the road as a full-time traveling comic, and that was the end of his life as a normal human being. In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles to try his hand at an acting career.

As an actor he's played, "Raymus" from the movie Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay, and the dim witted cop "Gerald Bob" from the ABC Sitcom Rodney. But you probably would most readily recognize him as the Dodge Truck's commercial's "Hemi guy". You remember, the red-headed guy who leans out of a beat-up car and utters the now famous line: "That thing gotta Hemi?

But before all that he was already one of the hardest working comics in America, selling out clubs and getting standing ovations at college after college across the country. Jon has been on Comedy Central's "Premium Blend", the half-hour special "Comedy Central Presents: Jon Reep",TBS's "Pit Stop Comedy", NBC's "Late Friday", CMT's "Comedy Club" & "Comedy stage." He has performed at the Montreal "Just for Laughs" Festival in 1999 & 2004, and in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival in 2005 and the Bonaroo Music & Arts Festival 2006. Most recently, he headlined a club during the Vancouver Comedy Festival in 2009. His show is supersonic energy filled with non-stop characters and super clever writing. Aside from his work in comedy, he also co-created the website SmallTownNation.com.

What’s the best way to describe Etta May? “Minnie Pearl with a migraine.” To put it simply, when Etta May takes the stage, she is the reigning Queen of Southern Sass. She reflects “You know you’re getting fat when you sit in the bathtub and the water in the toilet rises!”

Born and raised in Bald Knob, Arkansas, Etta May grew up alongside nine older brothers, who referred to their baby sister as “the human sacrifice.” In fact, Etta May’s parents - her father, a potpourri farmer, and her mother, bedridden by constant childbearing, - did not realize Etta May was a girl until she required a training bra.

Etta May met her husband, Delbert, an aspiring truck driver, at a friend’s kegger. From across the yard their eyes locked in a love look. Nine months later, she was blessed with a boy, followed by a girl and two more boys. “That’s where my comedy comes from. I just wait for my husband or kids to do something stupid, and then I write it down.”

Through the years, Etta May had a string of dead end jobs. She faithfully drove a school bus for over 10 years. She says she learned how to handle unruly kids by Armor All-ing the seats, and touching the brakes, all the way home. One night, while volunteering as a BINGO caller, she recalls, “the ball sucker got stuck, and I was forced to entertain a room full of angry Catholics. It was then I realized I could make people laugh.” Etta May will take you on a redneck ride through the Deep South.

Etta May won the prestigious American Comedy Awards: “Stand-Up Comic of the Year,” and has appeared on Oprah, Comic Strip Live, MTV, and as a guest commentator on “CBS Sunday Morning.”

In addition to television, Etta May is a regular on the syndicated Bob & Tom radio show and XM Radio’s comedy channels.

Bobby Collins is bringing his "stress busting" laughter to the StarDome January 27-29!

Bobby Collins has a job that people always laugh at. As one of today's leading and most sought-after comedic talents, his heartfelt humor engages audiences with a clever blend of characterizations and hilarious observations that everyone can relate to.

He takes the funny business very seriously -- from starring in his own Showtime Special and being Rosie O'Donnell's predecessor pick to host VH1's "Stand-up Spotlight," to opening for such names as Cher, Dolly Parton, Julio Inglesis and Tony Bennett, to name a few. Topping Collins' first comedy CD "On The Inside" that showcased his wide-ranging observational material, his second "Out Of Bounds," earned a Grammy nomination. While live stage performances in New York, Las Vegas, and Atlantic City are forever expanding his list of faithful followers, he has also appeared in five feature films and numerous television shows. Growing up in a large family in a rough neighborhood of Queens, NY, Collins knew he wanted to be a comedian when everyone gathered to watch the Ed Sullivan show and the laughs never ceased. "At school I was a total class clown," he recalls. "I used my wit and humor to get out of fights and doing homework."

One could say comedy was Collins' destiny. He was named after his father's favorite comedian, Bob Hope. "I've never seen Bob Hope perform. But when I was appearing in Philadelphia for the first time, a newspaper reporter from New York City caught my act and liked it so much he decided put me on the cover of the paper's weekend section. Lost in the cover's corner was a tiny picture of Bob Hope. While I was visiting with friends in the local restaurant, a black limousine pulled up and the driver handed me a manila envelope. Inside was a signed photo of Bob Hope along with a note saying 'how dare you get top billing on a weekend,' with a happy face written in. I still have it to this day," he said.

Collins has a way about him that commands attention and exudes confidence. Tall, with dark, curly hair, his gift of gab landed him a job with Calvin Klein when a company executive saw Collins sell Klein's wife some jewelry at the Garment Center in Manhattan. One year later, at age 26 he was atop the corporate ranks as vice president for the fashion company, all the while moonlighting as a comic.

Breaking into the comedy circuit came when, after chatting up the bartender at Manhattan's premiere comedy club, Collins found himself on stage at Catch A Rising Star. He continued to hone his skills until finally arriving on the Las Vegas scene. He gave up Calvin Klein to realize his passion as a comedian, and it's been a riot ever since. "Making someone laugh for a few minutes of their day is a very gratifying experience," Collins says. "They may be going through a difficult time in their life and may not have laughed for quite awhile. I appreciate those moments when I help make a difference by connecting in a positive way." With reverence to his favorite entertainment icons, he describes his comedic style as a combination of the physical movement of Jerry Lewis, the sleek, good looks of Dean Martin, and the heart of George Burns.

Collins hopes to continue doing what he loves -- performing. Whether its clubs or corporate gatherings, it's non stop laughter. He says,"Laughing can be a stress reliever. And when I interact with the audience, they see new things about their everyday world that make them smile. It's a release."

Plans for a network sitcom are in the process, but for now Collins gets pleasure from spreading laughter and being a dedicated family man residing in California with his wife and two young children. An avid basketball player, he hits the hard court whenever time allows.
