The Multi-Talented Rodney Carrington will be hitting Stardome July 10-13 & 17-20!

Rodney Carrington is a multi-talented comedian, actor, and writer who has recorded eight major record label comedy albums, which have sold millions of copies. Morning Wood has been certified gold and Greatest Hits has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Rodney starred in his own TV sitcom Rodney, which ran for two seasons on ABC, and he also co-wrote and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer for My Horses.  Rodney has appeared on countless TV shows, including the ACA (American Country Awards), and hosted the American Country New Year's Eve Live show on Fox. He won "Supporting Character of the Year" from the CMT Music Video Awards for his work on the Trace Adkins' music video "I Got My Game On", which also won the "Tex Ritter Award" from CMT. According to Pollstar, Rodney has been one of the top ten highest grossing touring comedians for the last ten years and among the top 4 or 5 the last several years. Rodney is on track to be in the top 5 again in 2014 as he regularly performs to sold out crowds across the US and Canada.

Another of Rodney's projects of which he is proud is the Rodney Carrington Foundation, which was formed in 2010 to benefit those who need a helping hand. Rodney has decided to give back to the community by uniting resources, donors and agencies to strengthen the lives of others. The Rodney Carrington Foundation has received recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization with the Internal Revenue Service and is actively evaluating opportunities to support several local and national charities through ongoing events. $2.00 from each ticket sold for the Rodney Carrington performances will be going toward the Foundation to provide support for its objectives.

Rodney's popularity derives, in large part, from his connection with his audience, both at his live shows, and by personally reaching out through social media. Rodney currently has several projects in development, including a new CD and a television special for 2014. Rodney will be at Stardome July 10-13 and 17-20.

My Wife & Kids Actor/Comedian, Damon Wayans Coming to Stardome June 27-29!

Damon Wayans was born September 4, 1960, in Harlem, New York, as the third of ten children. His parents, supermarket manager Howell Wayans and social worker Elvira Wayans, were strict Jehovah's Witnesses. Because of their faith, Wayans and his nine siblings were not allowed to associate with other children in their neighborhood. Instead, the family found ways to entertain each other—usually through comedy.

Wayans started his standup-comedy career in 1982, eventually landing a role in Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and in his brother Keenen's film, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1984). Damon's successful film career helped him land a role on the TV sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live in 1985. Wayans left the show after only a year in order to pursue more film projects, including Hollywood Shuffle (1987), Roxanne (1987) with Steve Martin, and Punchline (1988) with Tom Hanks.

In 1990, Wayans experienced a new level of fame as a member of his brother Keenen's new sketch comedy show In Living Color. He stayed on the show for only two years, but during that time he popularized characters such as Blankman, who later became the inspiration for a full-length feature film in 1994, and Homey D. Clown.

In 2001, Damon starred on the TV series My Wife and Kids, which earned him critical acclaim and lasted for four years. Since then, he has been involved in a series of projects including voiceover work for Farce of the Penguins (2006) and a sketch comedy show on Showtime called The Underground (2006).
He currently lives in Beverly Hills, California. Damon will be performing at the Stardome Comedy Club June 27-29.

Last Comic Standing Judge, Russell Peters, Will be at Stardome June 13-15!

Russell Peters, a Canadian Comedian, began performing in Toronto in 1989. His popularity extends to several countries, as he has since also performed in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Afghanistan, Sweden, South Africa, India, Caribbean countries, Philippines, Vietnam, China, Sri Lanka, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Denmark, Norway, Lebanon, Oman, the Netherlands and Malaysia, among other places.

In 1992, Peters met comedian George Carlin, one of his biggest influences, who advised him to get on stage whenever and wherever possible. He said he "took that advice to heart, and I think that's the reason I am where I am now." In 2007, 15 years later, he hosted one of Carlin's last shows before his death the following year.
Peters attributes a performance he did on the Canadian TV comedy show Comedy Now! in 2004, which was uploaded onto YouTube and became viral, as the turning point in his career. While the initial video upload featured his performance in its 45-minute entirety, subsequent videos uploaded by other YouTube users were snippets of that performance, chopped into each of the cultural groups he targeted. According to Peters, those snippets made their way to those specified cultural groups, and were well received by them. The video and its viral nature was referenced by Peters on the DVD performance of his show Outsourced, when he entered and jokingly addressed the audience with "Look at you, you filthy downloaders!”

Russell Peters' stand-up performances feature observational comedy, where he uses humor to highlight racial, ethnic, class and cultural stereotypes. He often refers to his own life experiences growing up in an Anglo-Indian family. He impersonates various English accents of different groups in his act to poke fun at each group. As Peters told an audience in San Francisco, "I don't make the stereotypes, I just see them." Peters uses his minority status to allow him to poke fun at different races in his performance but, according to a 2006 interview with The National, he does not intend to put down or offend different races and cultures; he tries to raise them up through humor.

Peters is widely known for his punchlines, "Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad." It ends a joke he tells about his childhood with a traditional Indian father, who used corporal punishment on his sons. Another punchline he utilizes is "Be a man! Do the right thing!” which details a story of a Chinese man trying to get him to pay more for an item at a shop.

Russell Peters will be at Stardome Comedy Club June 13-15.
